Education Tourism

Blending Grassroots Impact with Cultural Immersion

About the Programme

The Education Tourism Programme is a one-week immersive volunteer experience that connects individuals and groups to rural Kwara State. It is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to education, youth empowerment, and community development, while also engaging deeply with local culture.
This initiative is more than a trip. It is a journey into rural life, where volunteers become part of the community and leave with a deeper understanding of resilience, connection, and purpose.

What We Do

Throughout the week, volunteers engage in a wide range of activities focused on impact and transformation. These include:
Children are introduced to critical thinking through chess learning. Sessions on hygiene, financial literacy, and the power of communication are delivered in engaging formats that encourage participation.
Volunteers lead conversations around social media influence, peer pressure, leadership, and confidence. There are also moments designed for teachers and parents, helping shift mindsets and encouraging collaboration in supporting students.
Beyond the classroom, volunteers actively engage in hands-on agricultural education, gaining practical insight into sustainable farming and food security efforts.
They also immerse themselves in the local culture through guided sightseeing, traditional cuisine, and museum visits. These experiences foster reflection, deepen cultural appreciation, and create meaningful connections with both the land and the people.

Why It Matters

The Education Tourism Programme helps build bridges between underserved communities and passionate changemakers. Volunteers bring energy, ideas, and mentorship that inspire young people. In return, they gain rare insight into the hopes and realities of rural life.
This exchange fuels empathy, drives sustainable action, and strengthens the collective effort to shape a more inclusive future.

Who Can Join?

The programme is open to impact-focused groups, organisations, schools, and corporate teams looking for a meaningful way to contribute while building stronger team dynamics.
Whether you are seeking a CSR opportunity or a hands-on educational experience, Education Tourism offers a unique blend of impact and immersion.

What Our Education Tourists Are Saying

“What stood out most to me was the pure joy on the faces of the primary school students as we handed out breakfast across the schools. That moment captured the heart of the Education Tourism Programme—seeing young learners feel seen, valued, and cared for. It was a powerful reminder that sometimes, the simplest gestures leave the most lasting impact.”

– Gbenga Alayande

“The breadth of the PlungeSmile project is amazing. I’m mostly interested in the farming part of it. It can both feed the children and provide the much-needed revenue for other areas of the project.”
